So my question is I have a KRC power steering pump, a Forte Hydroboost out of a 1993 GMC pickup with the 2014 dual master cylinder out of a Mustang and a 87 to 93 Mustang power steering rack from unisteer. What is the best power steering fluid to use? Anybody have an idea as to what will be best?

The master cylinder isn't part of the discussion, since that's brake fluid of course. For the PS/PB setup, you'll find lots of people that recommend Honda power steering fluid. Seems to run cooler than most and guys swear by it. I ran two cars with it and was fine. You can get it at a Honda dealer or save a bit and buy on Amazon. For my Coupe, I had a minor KRC pump issue so was dealing with the support folks at KRC. They highly recommend using only their fluid with their pumps and actually recommended against Honda fluid. Could be just the party line, or a valid response. Who knows. I went with the KRC fluid. It's available at Summit and not particularly expensive. Both Honda and KRC are mineral based. There are synthetics out there, but I don't have any experience with them. Your hydroboost should be happy with whatever power steering fluid you use.

Thanks for the information Paul, I only put the master cylinder in for context on which Forte hydroboost it was I think he may have experimented with a few different models of it. It did remind me of a story from 30 years ago. My girlfriend at the time whose father "Knew about cars" put power steering fluid in the master cylinder of her car. She went to pull away from the house and they were four wet spots at each tire. Let's just say two days of work, two calipers, two wheel cylinders, 4 rubber brake lines a master cylinder and multiple steel brake lines that broke well trying to decontaminate them and she was back on the road.
Thanks again as always or your experience and knowledge and your willingness to pass it along
