September 12, 2011 Latham, NY Guptil's Roller Skating Rink 500+ custom cars
Since very early on with my build, I've heard the story about the Cobra that was stolen and ended up in the Hudson river. The car is almost a local legend on the scale of the Headless Horseman and Rip Van Winkle. Pull into any local car part store and let on that you're building a Cobra, you will hear another version of the tale. In the beginning, I just dismissed it as another "my Uncle had a real one" story. But over the 4+ years of my build and last 3 of enjoying my car, I began to realize the Cobra was real and was being restored just a few miles from my house.

In the early 70's, 3184 only had 7,000 miles on it when it was stolen from a RPI student and dumped in the river. It spent 16 months in the water and was trashed very badly by the time the owner got it. He had to replace just about all of the bodywork over the years.
