Ten kits at ten grand! As a way to kick off our 25th Anniversary year, I’ve told the crew that we will sell ten base Mk4 Roadster kits at the 1995 price of $9,900! It is a fun way to shine a light on how far we’ve come since I wrote this first advertisement for Kit Car Magazine in 1995! Aluminum under glass!

The base kits have evolved a lot since 1995, but you can still build your Factory Five Mk4 with parts from a donor Mustang. I will be posting 25 Year Anniversary surprises all year as a way of saying THANK YOU for a quarter century of motorsports success!

I am shocked that the price of the Base kit has only gone up $3000 over 25 years. That is truly a statement of FFR commitment to their customers.
IF I had a donor Mustang hanging around I would pull out the card now...

Question: ..Are these bodies being pulled from from the New 25th Anniversary or the Old Molds?

Bodies are from the new mold used for the 25th Anniversary kits.

Yeah, what Gromit said! Thanks FFR for keeping it real and affordable too! I figure they would pull some rabbits out of the hat for their 25th! As they have done so in the past. And I'm sure there are more goodies to come, as I check my savings balance! :p

To be clear, base kit doesn't automatically mean donor build. This is talked about quite a bit. Just means there are fewer parts included. Yes, can be a donor build. But also can be a new build. Two of my three Roadster builds were base kits with all new parts. No donors.

Great deal. I suspect they'll be gone pretty quickly.

Same here on donor vs new. I got the same deal for $9990 a couple yrs ago. The only donor parts on mine are the pedal box (easy power brakes) and the horns!

This was an unexpected bonus when i opened boxes this AM and saw the rectangular tail lights! Looks like the DS door fits better that I had heard it would as well.

Tempting. And, I have a 95 mustang GT axle that I had purchased in 2015 for my anticipated build. As the new IRS was offered, I went with that and have been storing the one I purchased. Maybe it's time to pull it out

David, the idea of putting that pad on the roll bar is excellent!

Kyle, If you’re turning to us to talk you out of it you’ve come to the wrong place!

Thanks to those that chimed in about the Base non-donor build. I pulled the trigger on this deal as plane was taxiing down runway in HNL on on Friday. I tried to guess what I wanted in the build form and now I am second guessing every decision, including whether I just need a complete kit. I dont have a donor and was planning on crate cotote/tko, IRS and PS/PB. Hopefully I will get someone on the phone this week at FF to talk me thru this.

Congrats Sean!

I think you’ll be good to go on the base kit!

During a sale you can ala carte a base kit with options to bring it close to complete kit content winding up money ahead in the end. I've done it with a Coupe when options were at 50% but you will need to make yourself familiar with the "what's included" lists for both and go line by line to get as close as possible. Some items are simply not going to be available as options through FFR and will need to be sourced separately while other items can be found at a significant savings elsewhere (fuel tank and it's components, hubs/brakes, etc.).

Good luck!

Jeff
