I haven't been on this forum since 2006 when I purchased my MK3 5540 . I still have and drive my car every chance I get and goto several car shows a year . Had made several changes over the years . Went from a 302 to 427 windsor that I built . And made several other minor changes . Its good to be back and catch up on the new cars ..

I'm still trying to figure out which engine to put in my car. What was the reason for the switch from the 302 to the 427? Also, why not go to a modular?

I put the 302 in on the build .. Which I had already built . It was a mild 302 build , roller cam block . I had the 351w block and some of the parts at the time. For the 427 . After the first year of driving the car I just wanted more power .. So I started the 427 build . Dart block and scat rotating assembly . Using Bill Mitchell 18 degree heads , 245cfm intake cnn ported heads . With Edelbrock victor jr. intake with holley 750 track warrior carb . The cam is trick flow track max ..Engine was dyno at 560HP at 6,800 RPM and 501 lbs at 4850 RPM . I worked for Ford dealer for 45 years and just didn't like modular motors Its just a matter of what you like in my opinion .. I got to ride in a 65 Cobra that my uncle own when I was 10 years old . I told my dad that was the car I wanted .. He told me in 1965 to start saving my money ....

Yeah, welcome back! And here, I'm still getting started. But can I relate to the youth part for sure! I'm going with a 351w -> 427 stroked for me as well.
