got my tires on the other day. I wanted to get these in place prior to tightening down the flexible brake lines.
found my DS tire rubbing just a bit on the F panel towards the bottom at full turn to the left. car is still on jacks.
will this resolve once I drop the car down? it looks like the F panel tilts away from the tire as you go up the frame.

When my car is on the ground they barely touch the F-Panel when I am at the Lock-2-Lock point.
245/45 17" is what I'm running up front; however, I've never turned that hard driving the sucker.
You may want to call Mr. Bill at FF Metal because he's got an interesting solution.

Unless you’re running something on the small side, like a 235/60-15, you’re almost always going to get a bit of a rub at or near full lock. It’s just a “kiss” really and not something that you’ll normally encounter except in situations like parallel parking or trying to do a 3 point turnaround (heck, you can just use the throttle for that ;) ) If it really bothers you you can add a couple of rack limiters.

I wouldn't worry about it. First because the edge of the treaded hitting flat aluminum won't hurt anything. Second because you can't really judge it until car is at least gokart stage and full alignment done. With this in mind look at your steering column to rack joint to be sure you have a straight wheel when the rack is centered. Also that you end up w/ the rack centered, the toein correct, and the over all tie rod length close to equal left and right, all at the same time.

Thanks for the input. For once, the answer hasn't been "take it all apart and do it again after buying this $200 part"! :)

I have a couple of rub spots on my natural F panels. You can only see them if you’re looking for them. It doesn’t hurt anything and I really appreciate the very tight turning radius this car has. I’ve been able to avoid three point turns because it does turn so tight.

The FFmetal.com Fat Tire F-Panels are made for just this reason.

So are rack limiters.

They are especially appropriate when putting a Mustang rack in an application that has very little to do with the original application.

Ford used them to adjust the original (Mustang) application.

Thanks for all the input. I'll reassess once I get the car lowered and aligned. It's only a minor rub at full lock

For those who might be interested, heres a pic of the Fat tire F-panel attached. Haven't yet tried the wheel on, but it looks like it'll clear nicely. Sorry about the angle, it shows correctly on my computer..
