looking over the fuel system that was included in the kit got me thinking about some of the components.

first question is with the plastic clips that allows you to connect the AN fittings to the non AN ends such as fuel pick up and fuel filter; it doesn't seem reliable looking at the set up. Is it worth to bite the bullet and replace the pickup with one having AN fittings (including the fuel filter)? Has anybody used these plastic clips and had issues?

I'm assuming the feed line is -6 AN and the return is -5?. Is this correct for the coyote kit and if so, probably make more sense to allow the return line to be the same size as the feed.

Lastly I can't find the specs on the supplied fuel regulator, what are the specs with max fuel pressure and will it be sufficient with a gen 3 coyote?

The set up will be a gen 3 coyote with an undecided supercharger so I want the fuel system done right the first time.

Last question is the fuel tank an 87-93 mustang fuel tank?

The plastic clip fitted connectors are stronger than you think. They’re used in all sorts of OEM applications, and I wouldn’t worry about using them here. Very reliable. Of course you can always upgrade to full AN fittings on everything for an even stronger approach.

-6 AN for both feed and return, if you go that route. -6 AN will support the fuel demands of a Gen3 Supercharged Coyote.

Not sure what you mean by “supplied fuel regulator”? FFR doesn’t include one that I know of. Regardless... Be sure to add a fuel pressure regulator close to the fuel rail (mount it in the engine bay, typically on the firewall). Set pressure here. It’s all outlined in the documentation for the Ford Control Pack.

Yes, the fuel tank is 87-93, and also used on 94-04 Mustangs I think. Long production run for that tank.

The plastic clips and hoses are what the factory uses. Very reliable, will last for decades. That's what I used on my race car. Inexpensive and easy to install.

No reason not use the same size for feed and return.

Thanks for the input. I am still torn between a full AN set up. I guess I have some thinking to do

My 2 cents: first, Happy New Year! OK, got that out of the way. I recommend 3/8 line feed and return. It's easy to find 3/8 to AN-6 connectors. Keep in mind that I originally wanted to go with the kit supplied 5/16 and 1/4 lines. I learned that it's much easier to go 3/8 line. You may have an issue with the return connection at the fuel tank, but that's workable. Everything else is easy. My regulator is mounted on the firewall. AN-6 connection at the regulator in and out. If you use flexible line, you can do an uninterrupted line from the fuel filter to the regulator and on the return from the regulator all the way to the tank. The coyote is looking for 55 lbs pressure at the fuel rail. That was the case with a Gen 2. Not sure what the Gen 3 wants. It will work if it is higher, but you may have an issue with the connection at the fuel rail. Ask me how I know :) Hope this helps.

The Gen 3 Coyote is looking for 65psi fuel pressure. Link to the Ford instructions for the Gen 3
