All,

I know this has been posted numerous times before; could not find a good thread on it so I am re-posting.

I am working on my dash. I want to mount with not visible hardware. I am able to position several screws on the underside lip along the bottom.

I was thinking of using high-strength Velcro to hold the top edge of the dash across the bowed cross member to hold the dash in place front to back ( the screws will hold it up)

Anyone have good/bad experience with this approach ?

What product worked well for the long term ?

Much thanks in advance.

I used high strength Velcro (link below) and after first season no problem. Do NOT put it on the hoop as you mention, otherwise will be very difficult to get off once body is on if you need to maintain. Add some tabs with angled stock under the hoop and put the Velcro on that so you have enough leverage to separate the dash. Same goes if you put screws on, I understand from others if you put them on the hoop could be very difficult to access once body is on.

I did put the 3M Dail Lock on the hoop and recently had to get behind the dash. There is about half an inch between the body and the dash and that turns out to be plenty. Reattaching it afterward was very easy too.

I went back and forth on how to attach my dash and settled for heavy duty velcro as linked above. Made some L brackets that I attached to the hoop frame for easier access once the body is on if I ever wanted to remove the dash. 119515

Helpful feedback. I like the brackt ideas. Noted on the sparing use of the 3M Dual Lock.
