So I'm 5' 11'' and the wife is 5' 4''. When she sat down in a car at Barret Jackson she had a hard time seeing over the dash. Other than a seat track are there any ideas to accommodate her for when she drives?

My 5'0" wife uses a seat cushion from Amazon -- works great. They have a large selection to choose from and it will be the least expensive, easiest method to accommodate her.

If you live in the Phoenix area, Frys Food stores have cushions for patio furniture. I can give you one I no longer need.

Can she reach the pedals? The driver's seat is set up for me at 5' 9", and my wife is 5' 1". With a cushion, she'll be higher but won't she also be further from the pedals? So - 2 cushions? One on the seat bottom and one on the seat back?

Fixes the height. Not pedal reach

The driver seat is going to be on tracks so that'll solve the pedal issue. Just curious if somebody made a height adjustable option work on these or something

She would need 2 cushions. My wife was driving a Saturn Sky with no height adjustment, and sliding seats. Maybe looks for a fitted cushion with back and bottom support.

Thanks but don't live in Phoenix anymore. Lived in gilbert till after college and it was off to the navy. We've probably ran across each other at the pavilions at some point I bet.

I used these cushions to adjust the height on my racing seat. Made it a lot more comfortable, too. This is what the endurance racers use when they switch drivers.

Why not just tell your wife that you'll need to build her a car custom fit to her size? Explain to her how she'll be much more comfortable in a coupe. ;)

I'm 6' tall and have the drivers seat as far back as it will go. My daughter is 5'2". I have a two inch thick cushion that she puts against against the back of the seat, and that's all she needs. But even without the cushion, she does fine driving the car.

I used the Jegs sliders. They have locks on both sliders, and are very solid. I'm 5'8", and the 3/4 inch or so extra height is perfect. I normally have the seat fully rearward, but in heavy traffic I slide it forward a notch or two so I don't have to stretch for full clutch travel. Plus, the sliders make it easy to clean behind the seats. (On the passenger side, I placed the latch release rod to the outboard slider. Removed the cable that pulled the opposite latch, and added a bar that pushes the opposite latch. Works great.)

I know its a track idea -

Put the track in with the front raised, then add a spacer to the back bolts of the seat so it will be flat again, then when it slides forward it will go up at the same time ?

Seat tracks generally add height to the seat, one reason we don't have them in our car. Wife is 6" shorter than I am and we have no seat sliders or cushions to raise her up, she reaches the pedals fine. Wonderful thing about these cars is you can make them accommodate just about anyone if setup properly.

Nick, if the base of your seat lifts up as do mine....perhaps just adapt yours with velcro along the front to make it easily removeable
and get an upholster to fabricate one for your wife with velcro in front and just store the other in the trunk. Keeps the "look" and gets her just the height she needs....

Thanks I think I'll check that out

Well, I thought I was having a brainstorm and you beat me to it.

Separate thick seat cushion, or a spacer pad underneath.
