Fox Body 8.8 rear from 1984 OK?

Hi All,

Size wise, would a 1984 Fox body donor 8.8 be an issue? I know F5 says 1987 as earliest date as a donor car but did not know if that date was driven by other donor components and not the axle.

Have not bought it yet so unable to see if it is 59.5". Plan on using it as a gut and rebuild similar to what Yama Bro has done in his thread.

unless the axle was replaced at some point the pre 87 cars had 7.5 axles not 8.8's

Thanks! Turns out it is an 8.8 that the previous owner had changed out the 7.5 for. Hopefully picking it up tomorrow.
