I have a question for the masses, where have other people mounted their GPS sensor? Are there any places it does not work and in everyone's opinion what is the best place for it. If it's mounted to the bodie, Aesthetics is important to me but not essential if it allows it work better Thank you all in advance.
I mounted mine on the passenger side on the bracket for the windshield frame.

In addition to Dave's car I've had 2 or 3 others with it in the same location.

Seems to work well there...so well in fact that it will even log miles while the car is riding in a trailer, right Dave? :)

Back in the early days of flying, hand held gps nav required a separate antenna placed on the dash same as these. We always placed it where the windscreen frame/fuselage didn’t block the line-of-sight between the antenna and sky. Today that doesn’t matter as much as there are so many more satellites and the GPS receiver technology is so much better. With that said though, I’ve experienced some dead spots where the speedo goes to zero for 5 or 10 seconds while driving. Has anybody else experienced this?
I did reach under there and reposition the antenna to the forward edge of said bracket to avoid any interference with the windscreen frame.
