Happy(?) 10th anniversary to me and my FFR!
Exactly a decade ago (Thanksgiving eve), the truck pulled up to my house and dropped off my Mark 3.1 Roadster kit.
10 years later, and it still isn't finished. 😔
I haven't even touched it in over 4 years (until today)!
The 1st few years, I enjoyed working on it. I had a lot more energy & motivation...
Let this be a lesson to all of you new/would-be FFR builders out there: Never let up! Never take a long break from it! And never take on too many other projects at once (4 Mustangs & 2 Broncos)!
Before you know it, your project could be mistaken for a BARN FIND! 🤑
Now, to vacuum up all the cob webs and critter poo. (I coulda at least put a cover over it...)
And now let the shaming begin... :p

Looks close enough for some test drives. Looks good too.
No shame... life happens. Sounds like you still have some passion left for this project, so get back at it and have fun with it at a pace that works for you.

I'm currently building one that sat virtually untouched after it was delivered 14 years ago. Many of the boxes had not even been opened! When the owner approached me about taking on the build I told him that I could not do it non-stop but could use it as "filler" when I had an open week or two and would be able to have it done in about a year. He said "It's been 14 years already so I guess there is no need to rush things now!" :D

I am pretty much in the same boat. I got mine 17 years and 1 month ago and after it became a roller it sat for years. I went to the London Cobra get together in Ohio in the spring and have been re-inspired. I've done more in the past month that in the last 15 years, and it feels great and is just as exciting and fun as it was when I first got it.
I am glad to see I am not the only one who had life get in the way, but I am pretty certain I will have one of the longest builds on record by the time it's done, but 2020 will be the year!

I'm in the process of prepping for paint.
My build will hopefully be complete and legal by 02/01/2020.
That's five (5) years since the kit was delivered so I truly feel your pain, just not as much.
You All Can Do It So Make It Into The Garage Today If You Can!
You Just Need To Take That Very Important Next Step!

When I got My MK3 I started and finished it in 11 months . The reason being if I stopped on the build I knew it would just sit ... I made it my priority at the time and everything worked out .. My wife gave me her blessing on getting the car finished so we could enjoy driving the car ..

You are right. I was on a fast pace at first, but when other things took priority, it basically went into storage in the garage.
