There is a really cool article in the current issue of Classics & Sports Cars (the British mag) about A98 - it's the one-off coupe that the AC factory built to run at LeMans in '64. It crashed badly, but was finally rebuild using spares and a bunch of the original pile of parts over a twelve year period beginning in the early '70s. I've been considering doing a coupe after I finish my roadster and thought it would be interesting to pattern it after a little known car.

Cool car, getting the rear window issue solved seems like the only dificult part if your using the 65 coupe from FFR.

Here are a few pictures - I see what you mean about the rear window issue, but that could be overcome by using Lexan and modifying the hatch to be a boot lid.

I'm thinking of making a go of this someday - comments or feedback are greatly appreciated, especially if anyone as done one of these using a Type 65 as a starting point.

The rear is a little reminiscent of the Aston Martin DB6 but swoopier. Very pretty car. Did you notice how small the doors are? Not sure I could get in and out of that without some serious gymnastics.

AC...That's a gorgeous build........Thanks for sharing the pics.....In looking at the photos of the origninal, I can definately see an A98 morphing out of the Type-65 components.....Would love to follow that build....

Wow, fantastic work, I love it!

My friend Chuck did the same with a coupe build, been at it 15 years or so.

Welcome to the forum, keep us updated, we love this stuff here!
