We are close to the call on showing you guys scale models. Once selected the development path of the body shape will be set and done in hyper speed (literally a few months). I like doing a small run of shorts that say "818 Design Team" somewhere on the shirt, maybe on left front chest and an image of the car.. avail only if you're a forum member, a GRM forum member or have submitted a design idea/post. That way 20 years from now when the car is part of the fabric of the car community, those few of us with old faded shirts can brag big.

FFR has really dropped the ball on this one. I understand a T-shirt isn't high on their priority list, but if we can't buy an 818 for at least a year or more, an 818 T-shirt may be the next best thing. I suggest we design our own unofficial T-shirt. http://www.cafepress.com/ Any talented graphic designers might even get a couple bucks in royalties to go toward his/her 818. Be sure to post a link here to your design.

I also considered the Cafe Press idea but I'd rather have the 'proceeds' to go to FFR or the charity of their choosing. FFR has put on a good show for us, I don't mind a good American company making a little fluff money on some sweet t-shirts.

Besides, the other FFR shirts I have is excellently made with wonderful materials and colorfastness. No kidding, it's one of my favorite shirts, I trust FFR with their choice of materials for their cars AND their apparel more than cafepress (although that's a sweet site.)

LOL! All this time I thought you started this thread with an unacknowledged quote from me (but didn't feel slighted). On more than one occasion I had stated that same quote in other threads, prior to you starting this one. So I thought you quoted me.

In the Douglas Adams 'Hitchikers Guide' series, there is this story where guy buys package of cookies while waiting for train. Sits at a table reading his newspaper. Totally asleep at the wheel here. My thoughts were to keep the shirts simple, but recognize the design team, contributors, and forum guys who have helped steer the car design and given the boys here lots of laughs and also some eye twitches. I'll have maddog post up some concepts, you guys are free to contribute, and we'll make some up super fast.

I do prefer a simple text on the front left chest "818 Design Team Member" crazy graphics or simple on the back... give the mad dog a few days.

I am not one to design shirts, but I like this design concept.
I'm just a bit wary of the amount of ink that will go onto it. That sometimes makes for an uncomfy shirt. *shrug*

What if the current design was modified such that the renderings were stylized as sketches so they were mostly black and white?

A final design has not been decided on. We've been pretty busy here at FFR updating our brochures and other projects so I haven't had a chance to tweak the design FFR came up with. What do people think of the submissions so far? Any other ideas?

I have 2 design layouts I am working with right now. Both on Black

both pretty much the same on the front with Project 818 Design Team with FFR round logo.

1st design, on the back has 818 in red with white outline with Pure Adrenaline over the bottom part of the 818. under the Pure Adrenaline has ...going to extremes!
Pure Adrenaline is in black outlined in red 3D, going to extremes is in grey.

2nd design, on the back is the same as far as the 818 but with, I said....Speed and under that, give me what I need!
The Speed and give me what I need! is in red with yellow outline with the lettering all leaning right with motion.

I would say keep any car designs off, since we don't really know which one is going to be the first design used by FFR.

It has to have a car. Who wants a shirt about a car design without a picture of a car? I think all these budding designers should be flooding the board with more sketches of their designs. The shirt should be a collection of all the entries in a collage so it elicits a group effort and everyone can have some pride in their contribution. Take all the chatter and banter over the past ten months and apply it to a shirt, that is what the 818 is. So far...

To give credit to whom ever designed the original FF logo. I just reconstructed the logo from scratch and took out all the 3D, and got the colors as close as I could. Not sure if the 5 in the middle is a font or not, but I wasn't going to spend hours trying to find it, so I just basicly traced it as close as I could. This FF logo actual size is about 8" in dia.

If Dave Smith or whom ever designed it would need it, say for what ever reason, not that they would, since they more then likely have one just like it somewhere from when they designed it originally. I can send it. Could be used for emblems, trace pattern for metal work etc.
