Hey all. Getting my trans cover on and when the car is in 3rd gear, its just about on top of the cover, and this is without the trim ring installed. I may have miscalculated my hole due to the material on the cover. Anyhow, before I start enlarging things, adding new rivnuts and possible jacking some things up, is there another 3rd party shifter that stands a little taller than the FFR provided one that gives a little more clearance in the 1, 3 and 5th gears?
Thanks!

You should be able to find something from the folks at Hurst.

Thanks GDG. I was thinking of this one. Does anyone know how far It extends from the secured point at the bottom until it bends? The FFR one makes an immediate bend so if it’s an inch or two difference, then it might work perfectly.

Have you tried mounting the bolt-on shifter handle to the driver's side of the transmission nub vice the passenger side? That may give you some room.

Here it is with the handle bolted to the driver's side.

I run this shifter handle and it works quite well. Comes straight up through the boot and does not put pressure on the rubber boot like the FFR one does which will make it pop out of third gear. My 2 cents. Scott

Thanks RJD. I did flip it around and not giving me the clearance. Thanks for the suggestion.

Scott - Do you know the length of the handle between the base and where it bends?
