Had a PM question on this & thought that some pictures would help. Ordered a dirt track Nomex honeycomb radiator panel from SpeedWay Motors along with some button ended zip tie type mounts.

Sprayed the panel with flat black high temperature rattle can paint. Takes about 2 cans as the Nomex will absorb quite a bit. Made a paper template of the radiator face at the point it contacted Mike Everson's panel.

Painted the raw edges from the cut & put the panel into the opening against the radiator face. Use four of the zip thingies pressed through the honycomb & radiator fines & pushed the retaining button on them. Unit has about 3 years & is cleaned by blowing compressed air through it from the radiator side.

The stuff works great! Used it on my hot rod but painted it rattle can aluminum and from 8-feet you can't tell it's there. The grill shell holds it in place without any other attachments (at least up to 140 MPH so far). Slides out to clean.

I really like the clean look with the both Everson’s panel and the Nomex Honeycomb painted black! It’s great when mods like this enhance function, appearance and durability!

Nice looking. I discovered that aluminum z bar holds this down at the top and bottom nicely. Plus, it allows easy removal

I got this setup, the nomex and a z-bar to mount, I assume I have to wait until the body and any radiator shrouding is mounted - correct?

can I pre-mount the z-bar? or just wait... ?

I put the Everson & Breeze pieces on in 2014 as I was building the car. Also have the lower radiator support brace which does not show up in the picture

Put the Nomex in about a year later. Its flexable so you can bend & fold it so it will go through the front opening
