View Full Version : Got Ken's motor/trans installed
After a nice breakfast drive into the foothills of Madera Co., we stopped off at Ken's "little" shop to get the motor and trans dropped into his car. He's got a 4.6 Cobra engine with, (I think) a T-46 (6-speed?) trans.
While the wives took photos, the guys got busy. None of us had installed a 4.6 before and it was a little different (bigger) than dropping in a 302/351 block. Took us a bit longer than estimated, but it went in.

Ray, if you moved that darn motorhome out of the way you might have enough room to work! :-)

Russ, the motorhome is dwarfed inside the 4000 sqft space! Ken has one of the nicest wood shops behind the far wall that I have ever seen!

The wood shop in the room behind the stairs is 1200 sqft. There is room on the other side of the motor-home to build two more FFR's. Ken is using a tournament size pool table to organize and stage his parts and tools for his build.

The belt routing is wrong on the motor, the belt should do an S wrap around the waterpump pulley.

THe motor looks great and will certainly fill the engine compartment.

I noticed that too. Smooth pully needs to be on the smooth side of the belt.

Wayne,
Thanks. None of us caught that and I've sent the information onto Ken.

Are you sure that is a 03 Cobra 4.6? The intake is the 96-98 Cobra intake. The 2003 should have a supercharger on top.
