I’m fitting my side mirrors and wanted to check with someone who’s done it.

Looking at the photo in the manual, it appears the mirror marked LH in the box needs to go on the right side of the truck, and vice versa.

Am I missing something or just dense today?

Thanks!

And while I’m on the topic...
FFR’s example and most other builds I’ve looked at have the mirror mounted on the curved surface of the upper body trim belt line. That doesn’t seem very stable to my thinking.

Is anyone aware of a reason I can’t go forward and up to the flat triangle in front of the window?

I thought the same myself...

Appreciate you chiming in!

For the record, this is approximately where I’m going to put the mirrors. I do need to be careful that I don’t drill into the door ‘flange’ area but other than that it should be fine.

And not the triangular area? Which is where I was thinking.

I think we’re talking about the same place. :)
My photo editing wasn’t very good.

I got a digital rearview (with front view and recorder) to mount in the back of the cab, how well that works will affect outside mirror placement

I mounted mine on the curved surface like in most pictures. It just seemed like the door was a bit thicker in that area. When I do my final mount I’m going to fab a backing plate to go behind it. I just dropped my cab and doors off to get primed and painted yesterday. I finished the body work on them last weekend. Those are the last to get painted
A nice relief to be done with the sand paper, bondo, and glass. Rob

Thanks for your input Rob.

I’ve decided to go with the flat area but hadn’t considered a backing plate on the inside of the door.
Definitely going to fab me up a couple...thanks for the great idea!

Good luck with paint and reassembly.
Cheers,
Pat
