It looks like it is just other income, so up to 35% (ouch). minus the price of the ticket !!!
So maybe 80K for the car so 25K in taxes !! Still a good deal for the car.
I know my nephew will win it who is broke so his tax rate is very low! then I will "buy" it and just need sales tax ......... hold on, Am I actually putting this idea on line ...... never mind, forget I mentioned it!

They need $2000.00 more in ticket sales and the car is going to someone .... I think I would pick the car over half the cash raised!!

If I were to "donate" in order to maybe win a Cobra I would at least pick a worthy cause. Here is the way I typically go.
