Sounds like a great trade. How many miles and what condition is the Viper in? What year is it? Pretty sure they are still in the mid 60s range.

You forgot to say what color your Cobra is. I can see the pics, but am interested in your color. Nice car.
I did a search and found Viking Blue. If correct, no need to reply.
Did not mean to side track your thread.

Food For Thought:

The Viper is far more complex to maintain and repair than a quality built Factory Five.

1. Can you handle these tasks yourself or will you have to Pay, Pay, Pay?
2. Do you prefer the interesting sound of the V-10 or does your head turn when you hear the sound of a good old fashion V-8?
3. Would you prefer a store bought car or one that has your personality oozing from it?

Vipers are cool and so is your car so choose wisely and I'm sure you'll be happy in the end, no matter what path you take.

Good Luck From The Dark Dart Side!

Man, I love your combo / interior combo.

Good Luck with the decision. Not exactly the same scenario, but I've considered selling mine and getting a new(er) GT350, with the thought I'd drive it more and get more enjoyment out of it. But I think I would miss tinkering with my hand built beauty, and the social interaction it brings.

I have a Gen 3 Viper ('03) and a Mark IV. The Viper is far more comfortable and pleasant to drive. I could drive the Viper all day long. The sound of the V10 at 5000+ rpm is nothing short of exotic. As far as GoDads comment about how complex the Viper is to maintain, seriously? Based on what? I have had ZERO issues. Oil changes (11 quarts) and that's it. The oil line fittings to the cooler have been known to weep. Mine are nice and dry. So look for that. And if you need to do any maintenance you can get the Factory Mopar Shop manuals. Parts are readily available through a number of discounted Mopar on-line dealers. I re-painted the Viper and it was a fun project. Every panel of the Viper simply unbolts. Here is a big plus in favor of the Viper easy to register and insure. Both cars get a lot of attention. Both cars are a blast.

Buy the Viper and keep the Cobra! Then get yourself a nice wide-body 911 and.... I digress. :p

You asked what is the value of your car, vs the Viper.
I'd look at it like this. Could you re-sell the Viper, and buy an exact copy what your current roadster is, without shelling out any more money? If so they are equal. :D

Cobra is so much better looking, ugh couldn't do it for a Viper. The Viper is the overall better car, but the Cobra is the better toy

Make sure you drive it & see how you like it. A friend of mine had a 2005 (??) Copperhead. Beautiful colour but the car tended to ride like a truck, heavy & rough. I think my Mk 3.1 with a 3 link and Breeze trailing arm with heim joints has a better ride. That being said I think the Viper is the closest ride in a factory car to the Roadster. Just my opinion. The Roadster has more character on a sunny day but the Viper is more all weather.

Vipers are about the only other sub 100K car that can turn heads almost as much as a Cobra can.
Not sure I'd want to own one, but they are cool.

I just sold a super clean Mark 3.1 with 1500 miles on it for $55k. It had a Smeding 8 stack aluminum 427...650HP. Custom leather interior, carpets, power steering, Wilwood brakes, custom hood. About $74k in receipts. Based on that, I think you could get mid $40s for your car.116690116691116692

Both cars are awesome. Really different cars and both fun. Having either is a joy.
