Hello everybody, I just purchased the "rattle can hot rod" give away car. I have some plans to change a few things, ei. Hood and engine covers, fender kit and a soft top. It's in pretty good shape but for the price I couldn't pass the chance to pick it up. I've been lurking within these forums for about 3 or 4 months now and almost feel like I know a couple of you. I'm sure I will be asking a ton of really dumb questions but that is what these forums are about I hope.

Congratulations LonDart (makes me think of a game that's no longer available!),
How about taking some pics of the car in its current configuration as a "Before" and posting them here?
Thanks,
Tom

This may be stuff you don't want to discuss but could you give us your thoughts:

(1) How was it title? Was it registered as Factory Five Racing. I thing "Racing" would scare any insurance company to death and they would jack up the rates through the roof.

(2) What did you pay for it?

(3) Did/has the state given you any trouble about driving it on the street without fenders. Does it throw up many rocks? Have you had chipped paint from those rocks and where?

(4) Are you looking at (I think they call them) bicycle fenders for the front? Instead of bolting on to the body, they bolt to what looks like the front spindle bolts. I would think that they would catch a lot of the little rocks and I think they look great.
Also, if you run through some water they would keep you and the passenger from getting sprayed.

I hope you don't mind answering these questions in some detail.
Thanks
Gary

Thanks Tom, and yes Gary I'd be happy to answer your questions
1. I am in the process of trying to register it in CA, as aF5R model 33
2. I payed just under $30k
3. Haven't had any issues so far with no fenders but the registration process and inspection is not over yet.
4. I am hoping to put a hood, engine cover and full fenders, minus the running boards
