I am 6-5, Will I be able to fit in a MK4? Leg room to work the pedals is important.

Yes, with some easy modifications. The pedals can be adjusted. The standard seats won’t work for you. The Kirkey racing seats mounted right to the floor add enough head and leg room for you to fit. I’m 6-6”, 220. Love mine.

As Steve said, the Kirkey 17" Vintage seats go a long way to making the car driveable for taller drivers. If you are still in the ordering/planning stages of your build, you can have the F5 seats deleted for a few hundred $ credit.

Reminder. You're required to run these in the rain at least once :)

Hurman,
I'm 6'6", 285 lbs and size 15 feet. Like Steve, I used the Kirkeys, mine are the lowbacks, they are bolted to the floor and all the way back to the rear bulkhead. I used a small block and that give room to expand the drivers footbox toward the engine. By moving the right side of the footbox I was able to move the throttle pedal to the right and I can lay my right leg against the transmission and side of footbox.

Did anyone use the seat pads they sell or just ride with the bare aluminum?

I use the Kirkey seat pads with seat heaters under neath them. As TMartin stated, use the 17" or smaller because the 17" is the widest that will fit.

Hurman, like those above I can fit in my car like a glove and it is very comfortable. On thing I did a little different is I cut down my Kirkey Intermediates into low-backs, added binding (purchased through Kirkey) and had an upholstery shop tidy up the top seam. I like the fit of the bucket better than the vintage seat and also prefer the cloth covers over the vinyl.

Using a 302 and bumping out the driver's side pedal box toward the engine makes a huge difference. Since you will have more room in the engine bay you might even consider doing your passenger a favor and build a bigger footbox for them too! NOT REQUIRED, but I had fun designing and building this:

:)

Don't forget to add a couple of spacers under the steering shaft pillow-block as well.

I use the Kirkey seat pad. I helped it's comfort by placing a lumbar support behind it. I also put grommets in the vinyl pad so the rain water would drain. (my first rain, I was sitting in a puddle). For me, I'm very comfortable.
