Doug's 4" Corvette side-pipes with reverse-flow inserts.
I can drive the car for the first time without earplugs.
Maxflow inserts are ordered (for the track).

I had to fab my own 4" elbow-to-flange in order to mate with the 4-hole header flange.

New 'loud' inserts came today- put one on the driver-side. Passenger- has reverse-flow inserts.
Pics with dB app photos- ignore the min/max/ave values as the were recorded during a walk-around of the car.
I'll try some 0-60 runs this weekend with my dragy- both types of pipes.

Dave, I have been looking for a 65 coupe to see in person. I am located in Tracy and am looking for a project car that can be used on the street or track. I am 6' 4" and do not know if I would fit in this car. I like the looks of it and would use it more than a mark IV convertible. I also contacted a fellow in Livermore who is in the build process of a 65 coupe to see if I would be able to see the build process. TAke care, Jim

Ok, got the 3rd set of inserts- glasspacks, perforated tube (not louvered).
87 dB at idle.
So dBs roughly, at idle:
92 - max-flow perforated tube
87 - glasspack perforated tube
84 - reverse-flow
What's important to me is the ability to swap the cores out easily for different driving 'events' or depending on which 'community outreach' program I'm doing.
I'll get some 0-60 times as well as drive-by video as soon as I can.

Jim- PM me via the forum- You are more than welcome to come and see my car, sit in it, etc. I can take you for a ride- but you can't drive it. I can also do some measurements - floor to roof, etc.
I'm 10" shorter than you but I have my driver seat at least 2" high off the floor -probably more (slider on a boxed tube). Add up that space and the height of the seat foam and you'll have some space to play with. I'll even take the seat out of the car so you can sit on the floor and see what you have to work with.
My car is street/track and the roof structure was a big consideration in choosing the Coupe. My helmet hits the upper side bar if anything.
You can take the pads out of the seat (or out of your helmet) if you need more clearance.
I'm in San Mateo.
