Is proportioning valve needed on Whitby pwr brakes?

I'm in the process of installing the power brakes on my '33. I don't plan to race, autocross, etc and I wonder if the hassle of adding a proportioning valve is worth it. Thanks

I have used 3 of these without a proportioning valve with no issues.
