I'm sure this has been posted before, but thought Id post a few pics of my build after first start with a FLIR camera I managed to borrow.

My only takeaway was that my number 2 cylinder is running quite a bit warmer than the others. I plan on pulling the plug, checking gap, etc. and see if it looks lean or even non-firing(causing combustion in exhaust). This camera along with an IR thermometer was showing the #2 exhaust about 70 degrees Fahrenheit above the others. The max temp readings on the pics was most likely a result of too much reflectivity and my inexperience with the tool. Actual temps of exhaust were 280 (355ish for #2).

Anyway, I thought they were pretty cool and that I would share them. Will probably be going back and taking some high-res and better framed/in focus photos of the side profile later this week. Think it would make a good picture to blow-up/frame.

Dagwood-

I think those pictures are outstanding!! What a cool look, and a unique way of looking at these cars! I especially like the picture from the front of the car; it just looks so freaking mean!!

I think with some creativity with angles, height of camera, and some other variables, you could come up with some pretty artistic shots. I hope you are able to do that! If you do, please share them!

Thanks for sharing these great shots. I hope you are able to post some more.

Regards,

Steve

Yep, IR cameras can be a bit tricky. Did you set the emissivity to the correct value for stainless? If not, that will introduce some error. Surface contamination can also influence readings.

Definitely getting some nice reflections from the other pipes!

That is very cool and could be very handy.
