Here are a few shots of the Whitby power brake kit with the Willwood pedal box. The install was relatively easy, but required more fabrication than I expected. Most of the work was related to the Willwood pedal box. I am not sure I would want to tackle this project on a completed car, but it is somewhat straight forward if you have everything exposed.

Let me know if you guys have any questions.

Nice work! If I ever do another build (hopefully a '33 someday!) I'd either go with a donor pedal box or use this conversion kit, as I got to have my power brakes! LOL

Gloveman,

Really nice and clean work there! Hey, it appears the pushrod from the booster has a bit of a dog leg to it. Is it making the pivot point relative to the pushrod higher or lower? It appears it is biasing it towards the pivot, rather than the pedal. Is that the case?

Thanks guys,

David,

The pushrod is dog legged up in the rear which allows for the proper amount of throw while aligning the rod directly parallel with the whole assembly.

Here is a closer view.

I am in the process of making a proper spacer to replace the hose clamp.

Gloveman,
That is one of the best mods you will make on your car. I changed from manual to power while in gocart stage. Absolutely happy that I did it.

Thanks Jeff, you make a great kit.

Whitby recommends filling the gap between the booster and the foot box wall with silicone. However, the heavy gray seal tape that shipped with the
MK IV kit will make a great gasket instead. Just measure it, cut it down the middle and cut the ends off with a gasket hole maker so the ends will wrap around the spacers.

It makes the install much cleaner. I will post a finished photo in a day or two.

Nice job Gloveman. I did the same mod and was pleased with the result and product. Whitby's is tops in my book. Nick C

Why the firewall cable adjuster with a hydraulic clutch? Just filling the hole?

I am either going to make a plate to cover the hole, or I may turn a plug on the lathe and just screw it in. I haven't decided how to button it up yet.

I might even run the wire harness through there.

JimiD,

Here are some shots of the expanding seam sealer I used. I think I got the seam seal tape in my kit, but I am not sure. The seal tape was wider than necessary, so I cut it down the middle splitting it in half, and then I cut pieces to fit between the spacers and punched the ends out with a gasket-making dowel so the ends would wrap around the spacers.

It made a nice clean installation as you can see.

Let me know if you need some mores photos or information,

Glove Brother,
Do you have pic's of the brake reservoir's mounted to the firewall? I want to mount this weekend and have never had the body on so I just want to be sure I'm clear of everything.

thanks

Hi Jim,

I have not gotten to that point yet.

I am planning to use the CNC remote double reservoirs http://www.racereadyproducts.com/cnc-accessories/cnc-remote-reservoir-kits/ mounted on the top chassis bracket over the master cylinder.

And, you have to take the master cylinder off again. I noticed from your picture that you have not drilled the holes for the plate the wiring goes through above the booster. I have to do the same.

Thanks for the pics...I have been looking for a good pic of the pedal arm to booster connector.. looks like u are using the whitby supplied pedal arm, as mine does not have a lug where yours is connected. I have MKIV, Wilwood pedal box and will also add hydralic master, perhaps the unused brake one for the hydrlic clutch.
