Well 5 days shy of 5 months since bringing my Mark 4 home the beast is alive. I did first start today and I am over the moon. This is a 302 that dynoed at 385hp and 340 ft/lbs of torque.
I know that the rules state that if there are no pictures it didn't happen so watch the video to see and hear it come to life.
With special thanks to Fortin's engines in Chilliwack, British Columbia and as always to Al at Western Canada Cobras.

Congratulations, Paul! I like your first look of concern (explosion? smoke? gusher?) then you looked amazed (it's really working?) and then the big smile (well deserved!). Next are all the times when you have to go out to the garage just to start it again and again with the excuse that you are purging the air out of the cooling system.

Let's see. So far I have had to start it to:
-Make sure the oil and temp gauges are working (2X)
-adjust the high idle and choke (4X)
-burp the cooling system (3X can't be too careful)
-adjust the clutch safety switch (1X)
I still haven't tested the tach accuracy, manual fan over-ride switch, warm up the oil to check it again, make sure the battery is still fully charged, etc...

I really have to give thanks for this to my engine builder. The engine had 45 minutes of dyno time before I ever saw it and he used that time to set everything up.
Thanks again to Norm at Fortin's engines in Chilliwack B.C.
I hope my first turn over sounds that good!!!!
