View Full Version : Where to buy DPST toggle switch & self-parking wiper switch to match FFR set?

I'm using the Ron Francis chassis harness and it is set up for a DPST toggle switch for the hazard lights, which keeps things simple and avoids the need for diodes and such. However, I can't find that switch on either the Ron Francis site or Factory Five's. I looked on Amazon and there are tons of DPST switches that would work, but they have the "bat" style toggle rather than the flattened style and would stand out rather obviously. I like the switches that FFR sent with the kit and just want to match those. I checked a few vendor websites but came up empty...
Also, I know FFR carries the self-park wiper switch but the nearly $15 shipping charge is crazy. Anybody know another source?
Thanks,
Lance
Have you looked at what Ron Francis has on their website? They make several styles.

Mine came with that switch for the hazards that match turn and high beam switch’s, sure you don’t have it?
I mounted my wiper switch under the dash as it didn’t match and is rarely used

********** has the wiper switch that works great, just make sure to mentally prepare for a wild customer service adventure when you order from them. It’ll arrive eventually.

Just like Murd, my DPST switch came with the complete kit. I bet if you call F5 they'll sell you one for a nominal charge. Just be sure to ask them to ship it in a standard envelop rather than some box; otherwise the shipping cost will eat your lunch.
I don't have a source for the self-parking wiper switch.

If you have no luck finding the toggle switch for the wiper, Ron Francis wiring makes a rotary switch (WS-61) that matches the FF5 supplied headlight switch.

Ron Francis didn't have the DPST toggle to match FFR switches on their website or after talking to their sales rep. It turns out FFR has a DPDT (ON-OFF-ON) toggle switch that will work, it just wasn't listed on the parts website. I will just wire up one side of the switch. (Rant: If you make a harness for a specific switch, shouldn't that exact switch be available?)
I just realized I need to confirm that my wiper motor is setup for the self-park feature, so I need to pull the wiper motor, remove the wheelhouse cover and confirm it has the little cam follower thingy. Anyone got a photo of what that would look like? I have to look back at my receipts to see if I got my wiper kit from FFR back in the day or a different vendor...
Thanks!

Most wiper motors have the auto part feature internal. You should be able to jump it out with 12 volt and verify. good luck,

Bummer! Just spoke to FFR tech support and looks like my wiper motor doesn't have the auto-park feature. He said there should be a microswitch on the large gearset (see red circle in photo), but I don't have that. He said they are setup at the factory so it's not something to easily add. I looked through my receipts and can't find which vendor I bought the wiper kit from. I guess that saves me the cost of the new switch and a little simpler wiring. Just have to time turning them off...on the rare occasion I actually have to use them.

Downloaded this ages ago and found it in my stash of stuff. If the wiper motor doesn't have the microswitch, I don't see how anything like this would cause auto-park to work but it's worth asking.
Thanks,
