View Full Version : Heater mounting on firewall

I installed the Vintage Air heating unit on my firewall. It has 6 screws that joins the two halves together on each side of the firewall. The screws thread into a pretty flimsy plastic piece and seem like they could pull out without too much effort. How has this held up over time for others?

March 25, 2015 on the road - 10,000 miles still tight with no problems.

FWIW look into an electronic water control valve with a bypass for summer driving.

At the risk of being yelled at for my OCD, here's what I did. I think this was my first mod on the build. https://thefactoryfiveforum.com/showthread.php?20883-Vintage-Air-mounting-modification

Walt, (also my son's name, by the way)

Where did you get your AC/Heater and how did you install it? I'm wanting to do the same on my build, but am having difficulty finding a proven "kit."

Thanks!!
