the other vehicles have subforums - wouldn't it be easier to find stuff if we had those too?

example from the 289 forum:

Forum: 289 USRRC

General 289 FIA/USRRC Discussions
Engine & Transmission - 289 FIA/USRRC
Suspension, Steering and Brakes - 289 FIA/USRRC
Wheels & Tires - 289 FIA/USRRC
Electrical - 289 FIA/USRRC
Fuel System - 289 FIA/USRRC
Body & Interior - 289 FIA/USRRC
Registration & Emissions - 289 FIA/USRRC
Build Threads - 289 FIA/USRRC

That was one of my first questions when I joined the forum. Another member's reply is copy/pasted below, and after using the forum for a while now I tend to agree with all of his points:

"I can't answer the "why" question but honestly IMO it's a moot point. First, it's not going to change. Second, it would be a constant struggle for forum members and mods to keep things in the right place if the categories were very narrow, again IMO. Third, threads are rarely only a single subject. They tend to wander all over the place.

It's actually pretty easy to find stuff by searching. But don't use the forum search engine. Use Google. Works great. I use it all the time. From Google type (without the quote marks) "site:http://thefactoryfiveforum.com /xxxxx" and replace the x's with with as many search terms as you want. Power brakes, etc. Works well for the other forum as well."

I am glad there is just one roadster forum. I click on it and find everything I am interested in. I tried looking at the 289USRRC forum when it first started and after three tries I quit. There just isn't enough traffic to split it up 8-9 ways and I am not going to click on 9 forums to check them out.

No it would just dilute the content. No way I would rummage through a bunch of sub-forums.

I like a more general forum.

Early on it was suggested that additional sub-forums be created. I decided to try it for some newer models but kept the roadster "more traditional".

I'm not "against" more sub-forums per-se'; I just don't really see the overwhelming need for them.

Please keep it like it is now.

Personally, I'd like to see the sub-forums go away on the 289/FIA forum. As Craig mentioned, there isn't enough traffic on those forums to justify having to go through all the ones that are there. Easy enough to search with a single forum.

i agree with less posts it doesn't make sense, but the roadster forum has TONS of focus...
