Hi All.

I am finalizing the build of my body buck in preparation for the kit's arrival in a bit over a week. This will be a minimalist body buck design which will hang below the deck off the back of my house, and I am taking a page from this design with the two primary supports bolting onto the body at the front and rear turn signal mount points:

Can somebody tell me the center-to-center measurements between the turn signal holes (distance between left and right for both front and rear)? I've been searching for a diagram showing this but no luck.

Thanks!
Jason

The simplest thing you can do is run a couple of 2x4 boards across the wheel arches, one front and one rear. Set a brace across the cockpit, front to rear, and the hang the body from the 2x4s in the wheel arches. Make sense?

Yep, like Papa said, use a couple 2x4's in the wheel wells and you're done. No need to over think or over build something just to hang the body from the ceiling. I hung mine with rope and plastic hooks in the wheel wells, was there for over 6 yrs, no issues.

Dang it you guys, don't you know I like to overthink and over-engineer everything?

Thanks!

Well, instead of 2x4's in the wheel wells, you could use 4x6's if that counts as over-engineering. :D It's very likely that your body buck will weigh more than the body.

2x4s are already an over-engineered solution. You could easily use 2x3s. The body only weighs about 100 lbs without the hood, trunk, and doors.
