Well I’m stumped. Car wouldn’t start, seems the cheap battery wouldn’t hold a charge. Bit the bullet, bought an Odessey yellow top, putting out 13.6 volts. Try and start the car cranks for maybe 1/2 a rev, and then nothing, and I mean NOTHING. No cranking, no instruments, no lights, no horn, nothing. Power at the battery, power at the positive distribution block. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

You've got a bad connection somewhere - breaking down under high amperage load.

Especially watch the negative side too - depending on where the battery is, it make take two or three people + 6'-10' meter leads to isolate the problem(s?).

Chuck,

As Mike eluded to above, check your grounds. Do you have a ground from the engine block to the frame? How long is the negative cable from the battery to the frame? Did you grind away the powdercoat wherever you have a ground connection?

Thx,

Henry

Now that you've solved the problem, I don't need to start at the top of the typical troubleshooting list...

"Is it plugged in?"

:p

Glad you got it resolved.
