Hey guys. I installed the Metco Safety Loop today, and am getting pretty good interference with the e brake cables, as they are semi tight against the side of the loop if I have the bracket perfectly centered. I have the e brake mod with double wheels.

I could move the bracket a little to the drivers side about an inch to get some slack but then the loop is not centered on the driveshaft and not completely comfortable with that, as if the bracket happened to move a bit after installation for whatever reason it could make slight contact with the drive shaft.

Anyone else have this issue?

Yes; I had the same problem. I used some scrap 1/4" aluminum to fashion a new bracket for the cables. Get the bracket really low down on the 3/4" framing so that the cables don't interfere with the rear cockpit wall. Ask me how I know; the bracket in the last photo below is not far enough down.

Get the bracket lower than this:

Thanks John. In looking at the 3/4” tube to the passenger side of the current bracket, looks like if you mount it virtually straight across from the current bracket, that it would give a couple in inches of extra room between it and the driveshaft, and still give the cables a doable angle to still fit in the wheels? Not sure where you landed on the location as I see what you mean about the cockpit wall interference. What size holes did you drill for the cables to fit?

Wow - Now that I’m looking at it, the e brake cable bracket is super close to the driveshaft. I’ll probably grind that corner down a bit.

I don't recall the exact size of the holes I drilled for the cables, but I do know I drilled them on the small side so that there was no play in the sheath ends. It was a real trick to get the C-clips into place as well; gonna be a bear to replace if I ever need to do so.
