does anybody know if a 6R80 transmission fit in the tunnel of a MK4?

The transmission tunnel is pretty tight; however, you may be able to pull it off.
How long is the 6R80 transmission from the bell-housing to the output shaft?
I think that may be the most critical measurement because the trans tunnel can be modified if necessary.
PS: I've got a pig of a transmission in my car so anything is possible, but sometimes you end up doing some cutting and welding along the way.
