:D
Today is the anniversary of getting my MK III on the road with paper tags. Was very similar feelings I had the day my son was born.

Today I await the final offer from the insurance company on setting on the crash.....not the same feeling.

Charles, As I said before, Im grateful that you are safe first and foremost. I understand so well as my all-time favorite car was crashed (totaled) by a freind who borrowed it. The loss was so hurtful as the car was a one-of-a-kind, but still, life goes on and we pick-up and rebuild. THANKS for your huge contributions to the forum here and I am happy to help you once the insurance storms clear.

Thanks Dave,

My days vacillate from compete surrender to ever owning another FFR to a high level of excitement of building a new MKIV.... which is already compete/running in my mind. Yes you are right ...I am very grateful that I am OK. This little car has given my such great joy...even spiritual joy as I invited not only God to ride with me but all our fellow brothers that have passed on. The Dick Smith 198 sticker on windshield was placed there to remind me to always invite them to jump into me and driver their cars. I would never get this joy from a "production car."

Charles,

I'm sorry. I can sort of relate to how you feel. Years ago I was rear-ended while riding my MZ Skorpion sport bike. There aren't many of the bikes around, and it totaled the bike because the subframe was ripped from the frame. It was a battle with the insurance company to get it back, but I was not going to have it go to the salvage yard. I got it back, rebuilt it, and turned it into a track bike that later started a racing career. I'm sure you'll have a "phoenix from the ashes" story as well, but the process along the way definitely does suck. Hang in there. Eventually your mind will sort it all out and you'll know when it's time to roll forward.
