Would anyone have a digital copy or hard copy of the instructions for Tangent running lights? Thanks in advance!

Looked through my box of papers from the #8674 build and unfortunately I either didn't save them or they're somewhere else. Any particular questions? Could maybe test my memory. :p

Appreciate your effort...I think I can figure out the orientation of the piece of angle aluminum? I was able to find a new in box set but don’t have the instructions. One of the lenses broke in shipment so I’m trying to find a suitable replacement
And if I had the diagram showing how the lights and bars are oriented it might help with choosing the right lights? I would swear I once saw them somewhere, either tangents website before closing or on the forum?

Found the info you need. For the life of me I’ve never figured out how to post images on the forum. Videos yes pictures no. If you can pm me your cell or email I’ll send everything you need.

PM sent! Thanks so much! Pilot (light manufacturer) no longer makes the light, so getting one lens or a replacement light isn’t an option.

Looks like you may have found what you're looking for. I did find these two pictures from #8674 FWIW:

Apparently the design changed a bit my angle piece is aluminum, and the fins are supported by a a pair of aluminum pieces, but basically the same...appreciate!

These pics may give an idea of how they looked mocked up. I’ve ordered a set of lights that I believe will be functional and look good too? I’ll post if they work.

Interesting. That's the original design and what they looked like when I ordered for my Mk3 build 6-7 years ago. An aluminum base and stacked aluminum bars. I couldn't find any detailed pictures. Didn't take as many pictures with the first build. But visible in this front view. Tangent had them off the marked for a bit and then released the new design like I pictured earlier.

If you need a complete light, check out eBay (https://www.ebay.com/itm/Ultra-White-Series-DRIVING-LIGHT-kit-W-Wiring-Switch-UW3682-/273648747131). Blazer sold these lights under part number UW3682 for a set.

I apologize for not getting to this sooner. I do have the original parts listing, instructions and drawings for the Tangent Driving Lights. I also have the listing page from the Tangent web site before it was taken down. Unfortunately the PDF scans I have, 7 pages, are larger than the 200 KB size limit of this forum. They range from 380 to 660 KB. I’d be happy to send them to anyone who needs them either by PM (if the size limit doesn’t apply) or by email. It would be great if someone has the software to compress and combine the files into one so they could be posted to this thread.

I’m working on my final check list and hopefully less than two months from shipping my car Jeff Miller to work his magic. That leads to my question for others who have installed the Tangent Driving Lights.

Should I install the Driving Lights before mounting the body for shipment to Jeff or should I wait until I have my car back painted with the body fully installed? On my first read of the instructions it seems the lighting kit is only attached to the oil cooler scoop on the body. Even if I have to take the lighting kit back off before mounting the body on the chassis it would probably make final assembly after painting easier.

Mount and then remove before painting. Do all the figuring out and 'mistakes' on the unfinished body then let Jeff come behind you and fix it.

Just ordered a set of these. My Tangent lights is the prototype set of the version that Paul posted above, and the lenses have gone foggy. Nothing will fix em, I believe its on the inside. And they use some kind of super magic to install the lenses. No hardware. Anyways, at $20 for a pair, its worth trying!

I received the ebay Blazer UW3682 lights today, and I'm happy to say they are 98% direct replacements for the lights supplied with the Tangent light assembly.

Here's a few details... no comments needed, just posting up for the future when someone needs replacements.

My foggy lights on the prototype set, compared to the new Blazer lights. Note mine have LEDs installed, the Blazer has a halogen fog H3 and a blue 194 accent light.

Here's all the pieces of the old lights with my leds...

...compared to all the pieces for the new lights and the H3 / 194 lamps...

Just for kicks, here's a comparo of my blue LEDs vs the blue 194's as supplied.

And here's the new lights installed with my LED lamps. Tomorrow I'll get em wired up and post a test of the lights.

So what was the 2% difference? The depth of the mounting holes. You'll need some shorter screws or maybe some washers to prevent the screws from bottoming out in the housings. I dont see any differences in the quality of the castings, the silver housing paint, the reflector, the lenses, the wires, terminals or hardware.

Anyways, in this expensive hobby of ours, its nice to know there's a cheap ($20!), almost perfect replacement part out there when we need it.

Thanks 2bKing for posting it up.

It has been suggested I put up the PN's for the LEDs I used. My entire car is LED and I use Superbrightleds almost exclusively. I've tried others, but find their customer service, information and reliability to be better than most. The only non-Superbright I used on my car is the JW Speaker headlights.

Anyways, for the small colored lamps, they are based on the 194 wedge bulb with the 2 contact wires wrapped around the base. The blue ones I got (and are pictured above) are here (https://www.superbrightleds.com/moreinfo/miniature-wedge-base/194-led-bulb-5-smd-led-tower-miniature-wedge-retrofit-car/206/#/attributes/14). They are about $5 each and also available in other colors.

The halogen fog light lamp is a standard H3 bulb. The LED lamp I bought a few months ago is no longer on their site, but its been replaced by this one (https://www.superbrightleds.com/moreinfo/led-replacement-bulbs/h3-led-fog-lightdaytime-running-light-bulb-w-focusing-lens-400-lumens/5534/12490/). The difference is that it now has a focused led on the tip that works with a lens to give additional light to the 360* leds. About $10 each.

When I get em wired up today, I'll post some pics as to how they work / look.

This is what I came up with when I had to replace the original Tangent halogen bulbs. These are LED from Amazon. I’m happy with this setup. I would prefer LED over halogen!

I heard that the Tangent fog lights were no longer available, but liked the look and wanted some. I purchased the fog lights separately (P/N UW3682) and made the mounting bracket and center grill. Each center grill piece is a separate slice of aluminum, .090" thick.

By the way, don't drop the light before you install it. Ordered another set, guess I now have one spare light.

QUESTION: I've seen the running/parking light toward the inside and outside. The original Tangent instructions show to the inside. What do you think looks better?

Spacers made and installed. Wiring complete. Chose to have the running/park lights on the inside, same as the Tangents lights. I wired the running lights in with the cars running lights. Installed the switch next to the headlight switch. Used the original fan relay location in the fuse box and the unused fan relay. Also added a 3/4" SST washer to dress up the switch face, same as all the other switches on the dash.
