View Full Version : One more sheet metal question - lower trunk floor

Sorry for all the sheet metal questions lately. I think (hope) this is the last one. I'm looking at how the two trunk side pieces meet up with the rear edge of the lower trunk floor, and they're off a bit. The rear of the trunk floor sticks out past the side pieces by a good 1/4". I can't push the lower trunk floor any further forward. The side pieces are constrained by the upper shock tower mounts, so I can't slide those backward unless I enlarge the cutouts for the shock tower mounts. Is it normal for the sides to not meet up with the floor perfectly, or do I need to do something here, and if so, what?

Thanks,
John

Fit around the shock tower is normal. Wouldn't change anything there. Difference at the back is easily made up with the bulb seal, so wouldn't change anything there either. Having said that, sometimes it's necessary to trim that floor piece back a bit to get the best fit on your trunk lid. But you won't know that until body fitting time.

Perfect - thank you! I'll go with it as it is for now.
