Getting ready to sit the body on for the first time to adjust dash placement. From reading other posts, I had planned to trim 1/4” off the front dash lip and rear cockpit, then lightly sand smooth. Is this correct to assist with proper fit and to ensure that the dash is not damaged?

I’d like to see how the dash fits without using any attachment at the top except for industrial Velcro. I’ve seen some posts that state the MKIV sandwiching is enough, but needed to see how it all fit.

Thanks!

The couple I have looked at the clearance to the dash pad varied across the width by as much as 1/4 inch. So there were tight spots and 1/4 inch gap spots. If you take more off you could be up to 1/2 in gap which would maybe be visible. So put the body and mark where it needs to be trimmed to to give a constant gap. Also be sure to look at a recent thread where the body position relative to the door latch mount plate is shown so you know that the body is where it needs to be.

Thanks Craig. That makes sense.
