I ran across this picture of a FFR Coupe with Rear exhaust. Has anyone tried this? What modifications are required?

I'd think you would need to either run it through the tunnel (a challenge) or on the sides and then back in right behind the driver/passenger and before the rear tire before going over or under the gas tank. Doable, but routing challenges need to be solved.

This was done on a gen II frame and was pretty involved. They had to cut and weld in 4" sections of tubing to be able to route the exhaust through the frame.
Not sure if its possible or easier on a gen III, but I have not seen it on one yet.

the Gen 3 frame has smaller frame rails so it is not possible to run under car exhaust, totally different design from the old ones. There are some great pictures of the frame on the FFR web site check them out.

There were two thoughts on wanting to have a rear exit.
1. it would clean up the lines on the side of the car as an option for the side pipes.
2. I thought it could help make the car quieter when driving.
i did find a set of side pipes that are quieter and still keep the original look of the coupe.
Thanks for all the inputs.

It can be done on a Gen 1 or Gen 2 frame but it takes some skills and a ton of work. There's a wrap up of the approach I took in Post #118 on my build thread, here. https://www.ffcars.com/forums/21-ffr-type-65-coupe/622602-building-coupe-674-a.html
Even with all this I could not pull off the center-exit (wicked cool look) because that's where my fuel tank sits.
The space I used is not available on the Gen 3 frame because of the dropped floor.
