If I switch to using NiCopp lines for the brakes, can I use the fittings that came with kit or are there NiCopp specific fittings that I have to use?
You can use the fittings that came with the kit as long as the tubing diameter is the same. You'll have to cut the tubing to get them off obviously. I ordered a roll of 3/16 line that came with a bunch of fittings and 8' of gravel guard armor from Amazon.

I have replaced some of the SS on mine w/ NiCopp in standard lengths w/ the fittings already in place. They sealed to the other lines just fine.

If you are working on brake lines checkout posts #43-44 of my build thread linked in my signature.
I wasn’t happy with the look of the stock brake lines, took what I had done out and picked up some premade sections of Nicopp. I was able to do all the brake lines with 3 - 51”, 1 - 72”, and 1 - 40” sections from the auto parts store. Thought it turned out great. Feel free to reach out with any questions.

I'm in the process of fitting a one-piece 3/8" fuel line for my mechanical fuel system from Nicopp. It is so much easier to work with than steel lines and flares nicely.
Here is what I bought to do my lines:
25 Ft. of 3/16" (4.75 mm) Copper Nickel Tubing with Armor and Fittings

This kit, plus the loose fittings in the complete MK4 kit had everything I needed to do my brakes without using any of the steel lines or their fittings.

Funny, I just received the same kit that Papa purchased but with 1/4" from Amazon but without the gravel guard. I have not used it yet but doing the brake lines is one of the elements of the build that has me a bit nervous. Figured it I just saved my self from needing to redo one line then the minimal cost($24) is worth it to me. Everyone I have talked to has mentioned how much easier the copper nickel tubing is to use. Do others use a gravel guard as well. Maybe I should go ahead and order it before I make my lines.
