Mark 3.1 Rear Bubble Seal

Couple of questions/advice needed:
1. I've seen several write ups on Mk4 assemblies stating to not use the bubble seal across the back vertical wall. Does this apply to the 3.1 as well?
2. Can the body be removed with the wheel well aluminum installed? My assumption is no, but wanting to confirm. I plan to drive in Gelcoat for several months.

1. No seal on the rear bulkhead wall between the trunk sides.

2. Splash panels are not in place for body installation or removal.
