View Full Version : Rev limiter for pertronix
Thinking I should probably add a rev limiter. I’m running a pertronix ignitor 2 distributor. Any thoughts on whether I should just get the pertronix rev limiter 600, which is an external box, or I believe I can change it to an ignitor 3 that has a rev limiter built in.
Other better options?
Interested to hear everyone’s thoughts.

I run the Ignitor III and am happy with it. The rev limiter is pretty accurate :)

Same for me. The igniter III works great.
I would do the module and keep it all simple and clean.
If you plan to autocross, change "probably" to "definitely".

I swapped the module in my igniter II to an igniter III to get the rev limiter. Pretty easy.

Thanks all. Agreed changing to an Ig 3 module is the cleanest setup. I’ll work on that.
Thanks again

I would never throw heavy throttle to one of these cars without a rev limiter.
If the engine's working "right" you can easily slip traction and bump the rev limiter faster than you can get your foot back off the throttle.
Thinking of trying an autocross this season, that’s what got me thinking about it

Sorry to revive this. But Murd what did you end up going with and how do you like it. I am in the same predicament.
I bought an igniter 3 to upgrade mine but have yet to install it.
