I removed the smog pump and now I have to block the holes in the back of the heads. Any suggestions on the best way to block them.
Thanks

5/8-11 bolts or setscrews.

The heads fit on either side and are drilled + tapped front and back.

When the holes are on the front of the head you often need to mount things there - alternator / power steering pump / etc.

The part that fits and is threaded internally for mounting something else there is called a thermactor plug, and is commonly available (+ cheap) if you know exactly what you're looking for.

Clean them up with parts cleaner and a small tooth brush, then blow them out, before threading the plugs in. They get carboned up.
