Next week we break the all time record for 199* days in Austin. It was set in 1925 and there is no relief in the 7 day forecast. Who is hogging all the rain? Here are a couple of Pictures Fran took of one of the cracks in the ground at our house.

I'm here! It's HOT up here too! I've had very little motivation to get the car out of the garage during the past few weeks due to the heat. I took her out for a little midnight run a few days ago, but that's about it. Hopefully we're almost done with this heat.

Funny but I'm supposed to be leaving from nice and comfortable NH for Austin this coming Tuesday for 3 days BUT
that miserable lady named Irene might squash my plans.
CNN's weather track shows Irene literally centered over my house exactly when I'm supposed to fly out.
On a separate note you folks down there have my sympathy for the hell you've been put through this summer.

We have done many rain dances, washed cars and trucks, left the Cobra out without the cover and chanted naked at midnight to the Gods. Nothing works. The bad thing is the 10 day forecast is even worse. Today will be 108*. Everything from here on out is a record. We need this high pressure area to go somewhere else. Anyone need it? Can UPS ship such a thing?

Ahh, I was already in Austin when you posted this and didn't take a laptop with me.
Just got home but wished we could have met.
Would like to say that the good people of Austin treated this Yankee like he was family.
That's not me being polite. Incredibly open and friendly people that I met and then the food.
Had a dinner buffet at Lamberts upstairs and here I am looking forward to the briscuit and I taste the Mac and cheese.
I mean WOW!!!!!!!!!!!! and then never had collared greens in my life and WOW again.
I was afraid to touch the dessert for fear they'd have to roll me down the stairs and out the door!:D
Now for you non Texans, they aren't kidding about the heat.
Tuesday NIGHT at 8PM it was 97F..
I was walking downtown in the afternoon and it felt like the good Lord was above aiming a blowtorch at you.
One last time, this is my kudo's to your fair city.
The friendliest and warmest( no pun intended) people I have ever been and I've traveled a bit.
A trip and the people I won't soon forget.

Will do. Definately a place I'd like to go and spend some real time in.
This was a short business trip, in 3:45Pm Tuesday, out 10am Thursday and all the time inbetween was planned by my hosts.
Can't say too much more for a few weeks but then I'll let you in on why I was there.

Ahh,no..
I know people put out BS persona's online but I'm just a average Joe from NH with two interests.
The wonderfull cars that Dave Smith makes and fast computers for AIDS and Cancer research.
The first I'm saving for and the second is what takes my time in the last 6 years.
