Has anyone tried a headrest fairing on a Cobra? I see them on many European cars, and wondered if anyone has tried it on a Cobra?

One of my original doodles for the car was to include a fairing. I like the look. I ultimately set it aside due to lack of time/skills, but still might do it in a few years.

I like the idea. that red one looks like it might be easily installed and removed which is a great idea. Drooled over too many pics of D types I guess.

On a Cobra....FUGLY
One day I wonder if something positive will be said by Rich.

Maybe then my ride will be defined as fugly, if not already. Exhausting.

Looks Like Something A Ford Fellow Would Create!

Just kidding, not sure how it would look on a Roadster, but on a E-Type Jag would be cool, especially if it was removable.
If you want to build one the easy way, contact Seemann Composites and get some C-Flex samples.
Should anybody need this fiberglass material I can likely get Mrs. Go-Dad to run over there.

Don't ask an opinion if you don't want one. It's MY feeling on how it looks, you want it on your car, put it on there.

Google “Car Warriors-Factory Five 33”
Old TV episode where two teams built FFR hot rods. (Many well known forum icons on the show). One team made a head rest blister. Some will love it, some will hate it. Mock one up out of foam and fiberglass and see if you like it. I thought I’ve seen a Cobra where the passenger compartment was covered. It had and individual race windscreen for the driver and some kind of blister behind the driver. Couldn’t find the photos though.

I've read the OP's thread several times and for the life of me, I cannot read where he asked for an opinion on how it would look. Rather, he is specifically asking if anyone has tried to install one.

I have never seen a Cobra with one. When looking for aerodynamics, they went with the LeMans top and then full out aero with the Daytona.

I think they were more of a 50s and early 60s thing. In the mid and late 60s, roofs were going on race cars more often.

If you mock one up, let us see it.

Dave-

I sure would like to see what one would look like. I don't remember ever seeing one before, but I think it could be pretty cool if done properly.

Please let us know if you decide to fab one up!

Steve
