I have the Unisteer manual rack, the tie rod ends are threaded all the way in but still to wide. Do I need to trim the threaded end of the rack ?

Yes, that is typical with the Unisteer rack. I had to cut off about an inch from each side. Thread the nut on, cut, & remove nut. Cleans thread end. Some here have bought shorter ends so they didn't have to cut. Either way works.

Yep - what CCC said. I bought a cut-off tool from Harbor Freight for under $10 that did the job using my small-ish compressor. I, too, had to take about an inch out of the threaded rod to get the right toe range.

Sounds like you will have too. I didn't have too and it may be because I have Mustang control arms and 2000 spindles. I recall my setup being a little wider track in the front than Fox width. The spindles I have are what used to come in the complete kit but the control arm changes the width.
