Seal/Gasket between hard top and body?

Has anyone found a better way to seal the hard top to the body both front and rear? I could use the half moon weather stripping that is supplied but I want a better, more robust seal that will last. This top will be off and on many times each year so the seal has to be sturdy. I wonder if a person could build one or use another material?
Any ideas are certainly appreciated. Thanks, tom
