Will the MKIII Hood hinge kit that came with the tube frame, hinge in the middle and two gas struts fit on a MKII?

The Mk2 hood hinge had a steel frame that went around the whole thing. You had to rivet it to the hood and you could see the rivets on top of the hood.
The Mk3 hood was constructed with a smooth inner liner on the bottom and it had mounting plated molded in it for the hinge. It did not require the steel frame from the Mk2 hinge. To use an Mk3 hinge on an Mk2 you would need an Mk3 hood.
