Can you give me the overall thickness of the standard stamped steel 8.8 differential cover.
My car has the Moser girdle cast aluminum style cover and I am having some clearance issues.

What are you looking for overall hieght or just cover thickness.I can walk out to garage now and measure for you as I have both covers .

I am looking for the overall thickness of the OEM style stamped steel cover. The measurement is from where it meets the differential to the outer/rear most point on the cover. The anniversary mk4 rear differential has a cast aluminum cover with an overall measurement of 3 3/4". I need a cover that has an overall measurement of not greater than 2 3/4". The lowest profile girdle type diff. cover I can find has an overall of 2 7/8" and it will not work.
