OK the manual tells you to keep the spacing approx. 1/4 on the balance bar where it is anchored through , but I can figure out how to adjust it ? there is almost 1/2 free play on mine ?
any advise on this would be great

Herb, get every thing together and the brakes installed and bled. Then you can adjust this and you can get most of the play out. You want some play so you are not keeping pressure on the brakes. If you are using an automatic I highly suggest getting power brakes. Just my 2 cents worth.

Tom thanks , but the problem is that I cant figure out how to adjust it ?

You rotate the shaft so that it moves the center bearing assembly from left to right.
An external adjusting unit can be purchased so that you can play with it on the fly.
