What mufflers do I need with rear routed exhaust? I want stainless.
Thanks

I used the ones that came with the kit, they are stainless and sound great.
No idea who made them. There are pics of them in my build thread.
You will probably want to wrap them and the pipes, they throw off a lot of heat.

Hi Jim,
I see that you went with the automatic. I'm agonizing over which way to go. Any regrets?

If you are planning on wrapping your exhaust due to the heat then reconsider the stainless mufflers. That would be money spent just to have mufflers that you can't see.

My other car is a 6 speed manual, I decided on the auto mainly because of my left knee and with 3 pedals there isn't much room in the foot box. Auto's can shift faster than some of us. The 4L65e came with software that will allow me to adjust the shifting parameters.....once I learn how to use it.
The tranny came programmed from GM which seems good for everyday driving. It has an A/B program that can be selected with a toggle switch. A is factory program, B will be setup for dragstrip mode. There is also a dyno mode that will keep the tranny in a selected gear.

Did you order Stage 1 only? The mufflers are in Stage 2. Or, did you delete them from the kit?

Yes, they come with the stage two kit. I contacted FFR and that's the info I rec'd.
Thanks

I have the 4l65e in my '58 Chev Sedan Delivery and it works great. I put in a shift kit and have the programmer to set it up to shift as hard as anyone would want. I have the same concerns with the manual tranny but was hoping for a little more excitement! I think it's that mid life crises! Thanks for the reply.
